Siemens Healthineers cross-platform verification: Analytical and clinical analysis of HIV Antigen/Antibody Combo assay across ADVIA Centaur and Atellica analyzers

A recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Virology Plus evaluated the analytical and clinical performance of the Siemens Healthineers HIV Antigen/Antibody Combo (CHIV) assay across the Atellica CI, Atellica IM, and ADVIA Centaur XP analyzers. Using more than 3,300 clinical samples, researchers demonstrated greater than 99% agreement between platforms, confirming comparable precision, sensitivity, and reliability for HIV serological testing. The study also showed 100% agreement across HIV seroconversion panels, supporting consistent early HIV detection. Boca Biolistics contributed well-characterized HIV-positive and HIV-negative serum specimens used in the analytical verification phase, highlighting the importance of high-quality biospecimens in diagnostic assay validation and regulatory studies.
